Alexander R. Keen is Of Counsel for Doucet & Associates. Alex focuses on representing clients in foreclosure defense and various other consumer related litigation. He graduated from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, with a B.A. in Economics and English and graduated with Pro Bono Honors from Capital University Law School in Columbus, OH.
While enrolled at Wofford College, Alex served as a Student Advocate for his sophomore and junior years, protecting the rights of students accused of violating the school’s Code of Rights and Responsibilities. In recognition of his dedication to the school’s judicial system, he was appointed to be a Judicial Commissioner his senior year. He also won the school’s inaugural film festival.
While enrolled at Capital University Law School, Alex worked as a Student Preparer for Capital’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (“VITA”) program before being hired as the Student Site Coordinator his third year. He also gained valuable experience clerking with a two-person general practice firm for two years, clerking for Southeastern Ohio Legal Services, and working for Capital Law’s Legal Clinic. In addition, he externed for the Ohio Attorney General’s Taxation Section, delivering key legal analysis on International Paper v. Testa, a $17 million dollar tax case that was reversed and remanded by the Ohio Supreme Court in the Tax Commissioner’s favor.
Alex resides in Upper Arlington and spends his spare time composing music, writing, and playing basketball.
