Nissan Recalls 54,000 Vehicles
The 2012 Nissan Versa Sedan is being recalled due to airbag problems. The curtain and seat-mounted air bags have a history of unexpectedly deploying when doors are slammed. This could be due to an incorrect propellant mixture for the initiator component used which can result in an insufficient output of the compressed gas. The recall effects over 54,000 vehicles. Vehicle owners and passengers could get hurt if an air bag unexpectedly deploys. Nissan believes the problem could be caused by malfunctioning side impact sensor connector pins that have worn down over time. Nissan is offering to install a new jumper harness and replace the side impact sensors for free on all 2012 Nissan Versa’s.
